Soul cleansing

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Gen 2:7

The Bible states that we were all created in the image of God. And He created us both male and female. The uniqueness of man, out of all Gods creation is confirmed by our three distinct nature – Body, Soul and Spirit.

The soul consists of the mind (which includes the conscience), the will and the emotions. The soul and the spirit are mysteriously tied together and make up what the Scriptures call the "heart."
In my own simple definition, the soul is like a database opened at the time of conception in the womb. It stores information pertaining to stories, experiences, conversations and so on. The soul is capable of influencing the heart, either positively or negatively. It is not surprising that the writer of Proverbs declares, " Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life." Prov 4:23 NASB

Like anything else it needs to be managed and put in order. There is only one thing that can help achieve this, the word of God. To guard our hearts we need to cleanse our soul from time to time. The soul is capable of exhibiting different states, such as, downcast, anguish, grief, disturb, weariness, thirst and so on.

However, the word of God can restore, refresh and awaken the soul, reinstating it to be holy.

In the next 7 days, we will be dealing with toxins in the soul, such as, bitterness, unforgiveness, disgust, hostility, dislike, jealousy, animosity, envy, repulsion and so on. Be real with the Lord, allow His word to scrap, scrub, wash, mop every dirt, every bad thoughts in the recesses of your soul.
